Numerical Simulations of Dynamical Processes on Various Astrophysical Scales

刘尚飞(中山大学)

Abstract

Similar dynamical processes occur across different context in astrophysical studies, ranging from planets to black holes. Due to the nonlinear nature of these processes, numerical simulations serve as powerful tools for investigating their roles in the evolution of astrophysical systems. In this talk, I will present our hydrodynamic and N-body simulations of relevant processes. In particular, I will discuss some observational implications.

· PhD in astrophysics from Peking University in 2013

· Postdoc at University of Califonia, Santa Cruz (2013-2015), and Rice University (2015-2018)

· One of the developers of the widely used N-body code REBOUND

· Shangfei mainly uses computational simulations to study dynamic processes in astrophysics, especially regarding formation and evolution of the solar system and exoplanetary systems.
